Type Speed Test

Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 30, 2026

This policy describes what data typespeedtest.com (the "site") collects and how it's handled. The site is operated by one person.

What I don't collect

I don't require accounts, logins, or personal information to use the typing test. The site doesn't run analytics, marketing trackers, advertising pixels, or any third-party scripts beyond the bot-prevention check described below.

Contact form

The Contact form collects only what you put in it: an email address and a message. Your message is delivered to a private channel I monitor. I'll only use your email to reply to you. I won't add it to a list, share it with anyone, or use it for anything other than answering your message.

The form runs an automated bot-prevention check before your message goes through. That check looks at minimal browser signals to tell humans from bots — it isn't advertising tracking, and may set a temporary cookie on your device.

Cookies

The site doesn't set any cookies of its own. The bot-prevention check on the Contact page may set a temporary cookie while it runs.

Locally stored data

Your test results, history, and settings (chosen test duration, theme, etc.) are stored in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data, or by using the "Clear history" button on the History page.

Children's privacy

The site isn't directed at children under 13, but it's designed to be safe for general audiences and is used in some classrooms. I don't knowingly collect any information from children, and the site doesn't ask for personal information from anyone.

Changes

I may update this policy as the site evolves. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top.
